WE THIS MOTEL!! YOU WILL TOO! Our family began coming to Sea & Sun in 2006 & it’s forever been a favorite of ours! The owner is (Mary, from Raleigh if I recall correctly) super friendly & she is always there when you need something! Such a sweet lady. : She has always had the best prices! She’s never charged what she could have in competition-style with the locals. I appreciate that she loves her visitors, her business & just really wants to welcome people to have fun & not worry about high costs. She offers different kinds of rooms depending on your needs. I especially love the back where you have a small patio area to listen to the waves & the front where you can see the lake & POOL! : Walk straight onto the beach! I call it beach-front, although you only have ONE other building between you & the beach. So no need to pack the car up & drive or pay to park: you’re already there! This beach area does not have piers nearby to worry about your kids getting caught up with fisherman’s lines & hooks. Also, it’s mainly flat land on the ocean. Directly ACROSS from the hotel, is a very nice little FAMILY lake that offers a play area, a paved walking trail around the lake, paddle boats & even FAMILY MOVIE NIGHTS!! This is a lovely area favorite. : In walking distance there is a small boardwalk area, where rides are put up for small kids to enjoy. The last time I went (a few years ago...) the kids could get a wristband for all day play at a low cost. You can also walk (or drive) down to where fisherman come in with their daily catch. For other things to do in the area, Sea & Sun is only a short drive away from Kure Beach Pier (check out their online live web-cam!!). You also have some great eating areas here too. : If you drive a little further down,~10 minutes, you’ll find ANOTHER WONDERFUL AREA... You’ll see some amazing trees on both sides, with old war grounds of NC shores that’s very interesting for those that love our history on the right. On the left, beach-side, there is a huge sandy area that’s really clean & has a large beach access, & it’s never packed. It’s quiet & surrounded by large rocks. It has a beautiful gazebo (but no restrooms). I’ve seen weddings here before because it is so beautiful & clean. There is also another paved walking area here! : Next, if you load up & drive ~3 minutes further, you’ll find the NC Aquarium! You will NOT be disappointed. I highly suggest getting the Family Pass for 1 year @ $100.00. If you’re budgeting, this is perfect because you will want to go back plus by the time you pay for entry for a family of 4, you’ve spent almost $100. ⭐ This pass will also cover MOST AQUARIUMS & ZOOS in NC, or offer you a huge discount for entry ⭐ :The last thing to enjoy at this end is a nice Ferry Ride across over to Oak Island! There is a Light House that you can walk up to. Or just enjoy a quiet walk on the beach here. Your drive back around will not be too long if you chose this route. So as you can see, not only is the hotel a nice place to stay, but it’s a PERFECT distance for anything you wish to do- whether is be in walking distance or a short drive down south. I find it exactly what I needed for my family with little ones. It made everything hassle-free for us & we saved a lot of money along the way.

This is my favorite little piece of paradise! Mrs.Mary is a sweetheart! Our family has been coming since 1993 and now I carry my own little family at least once a year, usually more. The regular rooms are great for 2 to 4 people and the apartment has 2 double beds and a twin cot with a couch and 2 bathrooms. The beach is a 2 minute walk away and the pool is the perfect size! Also, prices are very affordable! There's a lake right in front of the motel which is beautiful, but also they have a farmers market every Saturday around the lake during the summer and it has vendors of all kinds! You gotta get some fresh salsa and tomatoes when ya go! There's no place I would rather vacation!

We were only able to stay for one night but were so thrilled to be able to find a vacant room here. The room was SO cute and super conveinent. It is close to beach access, which was nice for us because we were hoping to walk with our two children only a short distance and we did! I did not meet the owner but my husband said she was very sweet and cute! We will be returning!

Great location. And a good deal. The old-school 2nd-floor 2-BR suite was very clean. Nice view of Carolina Lake. Short walk to the beach. No complaints. Would/will do it again. Mary runs a tidy ship.
